LAHORE, Dec 03 (APP): Divisional Superintendent Railways Lahore, Inamullah, on Thursday awarded certificates of appreciation to railway and LWMC staff members for their timely and effective response in controlling a fire that broke out in a section of the Green Line Hall on November 28.
According to officials on Wednesday, railway staff acted promptly and managed to extinguish the blaze before it could cause significant damage. Only minor losses were reported, including the burning of around 15 old chairs and partial damage to the false ceiling. The affected portion of the hall was not in use at the time of the incident.
The Railway Fire Brigade and other emergency teams swiftly arrived at the site, while Rescue 1122 also reached the scene and extended full support in bringing the fire under control.
Those honoured with certificates included Station Manager Zafar Iqbal, Deputy Station Manager Imran Ashraf, LWMC Operations Manager Tayabba Sarwar, and LWMC employees Muhammad Ajmal, Sheikh Mohsin, Noman Yaqoob, Ateeq Masih, and Heer Waleen.
Speaking on the occasion, the DS Railways Lahore emphasized the need for preventive measures to avoid such incidents in the future. He lauded the team’s rapid and coordinated action, saying that effective teamwork always guarantees the best outcomes.
Divisional Signal Engineer Muhammad Nadeem Khattak and Divisional Mechanical Engineer Muhammad Imran were also present at the ceremony.
