ISLAMABAD, Dec 03 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police on Wednesday arrested two major illegal arms dealers during a targeted operation carried out under the “Arms-Free Islamabad” campaign.
An official told APP that the operation was conducted by Shehzad Town Police’s team under the supervision of SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza. Police raided the shops of dealers accused of storing and selling illegal weapons.
During the raid, officers recovered 30 rifles and 13 pistols of various bores. The seized weapons included .44 bore, .222 bore, .223 bore guns, and an MP-5, while a large quantity of unlicensed non-prohibited bore arms had also been illegally stocked.
DIG Muhammad Jawad Tariq said the arrested dealers had been supplying illegal and unlicensed weapons to citizens. He added that the timely action of Islamabad Police had exposed a major supply line of illegal arms, significantly disrupting the flow of weapons into the city.
