KARACHI, Dec 03 (APP): Deputy Mayor of Karachi, Salman Abdullah Murad on Wednesday said that persons with disabilities possess immense abilities and are playing an important role in the development and progress of society. Their talents need to be further refined.
The Sindh government of the Pakistan Peoples Party is taking priority measures for the welfare, education, training, and provision of all essential needs for persons with disabilities.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held at the Sports Complex in connection with the International Day of Persons Disabilities.
The Deputy Mayor of Karachi said that today’s day highlights the importance of persons disabilities and emphasizes the need for efforts to encourage and support them. Our religion also teaches us that we must fulfill our responsibilities in this regard.
He said that the families and parents who support persons disabilities at home in living an active and better life are truly commendable. We must understand that persons disabilities re not a burden on anyone; by equipping them with skills, they can become productive members of society.
