ISLAMABAD, Dec 3 (APP): A total of 1,085 food points in Islamabad completed registration by the November 30 deadline, as the Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) continues its campaign to bring restaurants and food outlets under the official system.

According to the Deputy Director Operations of IFA Dr Tahira Siddique, the registration process is still continuing at the Business Facilitation Centre to accommodate food business owners who are finalizing their documents. The official said the centre remains open throughout the week to support the rising number of applicants.

Dr Tahira Siddique, who is supervising the campaign, stated that registration services were offered on Saturday and Sunday as well to ensure maximum participation from business owners. She noted that many food outlets took advantage of the extended availability and completed their formalities before the deadline.

The Deputy Director of the Food Authority added that complete data of unregistered food points has been compiled. This information will guide enforcement teams as they begin inspections and take action against those operating without registration. Officials said the step was necessary to ensure compliance and maintain oversight of food-related businesses in the capital.

Dr Tahira Siddique further stated that strict action is being taken against food points that failed to register despite repeated reminders. She noted that enforcement teams have already begun issuing notices and carrying out inspections where needed.

The Food Authority has urged all remaining food outlets to complete their registration as soon as possible to avoid any legal consequences. The Deputy Director appealed to owners to visit the Business Facilitation Centre and submit their documents, stressing that the process is straightforward and designed to help businesses operate within the required framework.

Officials reiterated that the registration campaign aims to bring all food-related establishments under proper documentation, allowing authorities to monitor operations and maintain public safety standards. With more than a thousand food points already registered, the administration expects further participation in the coming days.
