ISLAMABAD, Dec 3 (APP): Islamabad has crossed the mark of 49,551 M-Tags since November 14, 2025, with 2,875 vehicles registered in the last 24 hours as the city administration speeds up implementation across the Federal Capital.
The process of issuing M-Tags for vehicles in Islamabad is moving ahead at a fast pace as authorities work to bring more vehicles under the system.
Officials confirmed that the past 24 hours saw one of the busiest days of the campaign, with registrations for 2,875 vehicles completed across the city. The administration noted that the increasing daily numbers show a strong response from motorists and improved coordination at registration points.
To support the rising demand, the administration has made ten M-Tag centres fully operational across Islamabad. These centres are facilitating residents by allowing quicker processing and reducing wait times. Additional staff members have also been deployed at all centres to manage the flow of applicants and ensure uninterrupted service.
The district administration said modern M-Tag readers have been installed at various points across the capital. These devices are helping teams identify vehicles that are moving without valid M-Tags. Officials explained that the system is designed to detect unregistered vehicles instantly, allowing enforcement teams to take timely action.
Authorities have repeated that vehicles found without M-Tags will face strict action under the enforcement plan. The administration has urged motorists to complete their registration as soon as possible to avoid penalties and to help smooth the wider implementation of the system.
The M-Tag initiative aims to streamline vehicle movement, support traffic monitoring and enhance overall transport management in Islamabad. With thousands of vehicles joining the system daily, the administration expects citywide compliance in the coming weeks.
Officials said the M-Tag campaign will continue at full pace, with teams stationed at major routes and centres working throughout the day. Drivers have been advised to visit any of the ten operational centres for registration and avoid delays that may lead to action against non-compliance.
As Islamabad continues expanding the system, the administration believes the digital identification process will support better oversight of road activity and strengthen traffic regulation mechanisms.
