LAHORE, Dec 03 (APP): The Punjab Ombudsman has facilitated the release of a long-pending family pension amounting to Rs. 11.56 million to a Bahawalnagar-based woman after she approached the institution over years-long departmental delays.
According to details, the complainant informed the Bahawalnagar Regional Office that her mother, an Assistant Professor at the Government Graduate College for Women, Bahawalnagar, had passed away on October 16, 2019, and that as an unmarried daughter she was legally entitled to the family pension of her deceased parents.
She stated that despite repeatedly contacting the Higher Education Department, her case had remained unresolved, causing prolonged hardship. Acting on her plea, the Ombudsman’s Regional Office pursued the matter with the relevant authorities and completed all proceedings.
Following the Ombudsman Punjab’s formal order, the pension amount of Rs. 11.56 million was released to the complainant. She expressed gratitude to the Ombudsman Punjab for timely action and support. The office reiterated its commitment to ensuring speedy redressal of public grievances and securing citizens’ lawful rights.
