UE hosts 6th annual international conference on advances in materials science (AIMS-2025)

LAHORE, Dec 03 (APP): The Department of Physics, Division of Science and Technology, University of Education (UE), Lahore on Monday successfully organized the 6th Annual International Conference on Advances in Materials Science (AIMS-2025) on December 3–4 at the university’s main campus.
The opening ceremony was graced by Prof. Saeed Ahmad Buzdar,Vice Chancellor(VC),Thal University Bhakkar,who attended as Chief Guest, while Vice Chancellor(VC) University of Education Prof.Dr.Aqif Anwar Ch. presided over the event.
The conference gathered distinguished scientists and leading academicians, including Prof. N. M. Butt, Prof. Fazal-e-Aleem, Prof. Rashid Ahmed, Prof. Riaz Ahmad, and Prof. Abrar Ahmad Zafar, who participated as Guests of Honor. Dr. Faheem Khurshid Butt served as Conference Chair.
Marking a major milestone for the institution,AIMS-2025 emerged as one of the largest scientific congregations ever hosted by the University of Education.
This year’s edition brought together 72 keynote,invited and guest speakers from 13 countries,including the United Kingdom(UK), Spain,Australia,South Africa,China,South Korea,Malaysia,Brazil,Saudi Arabia,Egypt,Morocco,Portugal and Pakistan.
Additionally,the conference featured 46 poster presenters and 46 registered speakers,representing a vibrant community of researchers,scholars and innovators contributing to advancements in materials science.
Addressing the opening ceremony,Chief Guest Prof.Saeed Ahmad Buzdar lauded the timely and impactful theme of the conference. He commended the University of Education for convening notable international scholars on a subject of global scientific significance, adding that such collaborative platforms were “the need of the hour” to accelerate research in materials science.
In his remarks,Prof. Dr.Aqif Anwar Ch. highlighted UE’s expanding research profile,noting that with nine campuses across seven cities and five academic divisions,the University of Education is creating new horizons in translational research. “We are striving for a better future built upon our historic academic legacy,” he said.
