ISLAMABAD, Dec 02 (APP):Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday attended the passing-out parade of the first batch of the Federal Constabulary (FC) at the newly established Federal Constabulary Training Centre in Shabqadar, marking what he described as the beginning of “a new era” for the force.
Upon arrival, the Interior Minister was received by Commandant Federal Constabulary Nazir Gaara and senior officials. Naqvi inspected the parade, where smartly turned-out contingents marched past the saluting dais.
He also witnessed a series of practical training demonstrations, praising the recruits for their “excellent display of professional skills.”Awards were distributed among trainees who excelled during the course, while the FC Commandant delivered the welcome address.
Addressing the ceremony, Naqvi said he was pleased to witness a “magnificent” parade that reflected the discipline, alertness, and commitment of the recruits. “Your performance reflects not only your physical training but also your courage, determination, and passion to serve this country,” he said.
“You are the practical representatives of the major transformation taking place in the Federal Constabulary.”Highlighting the transition of the Frontier Constabulary into the Federal Constabulary, Naqvi noted that the force carries a legacy spanning more than a century.
He said the FC has consistently adapted to evolving security challenges and has remained at the forefront of counter-terrorism operations, protection of government installations, security of national projects, and maintaining law and order. Naqvi underscored the need for modern legal reforms to support the force’s expanding role.
He said the federal government and the Interior Ministry had worked “tirelessly” to provide a modern legal framework through a new ordinance. He also noted enhanced facilities for families of FC martyrs, terming the new package “a testament to our acknowledgment of their sacrifices.”
The minister emphasized the importance of the Federal Government’s newly created Dedicated Riot Control Wing, of which the passing-out recruits are the first members. “Your every action will reflect the dignity of the state, the rule of law, and the trust of the people,” he said. “I am fully confident that you will fulfill this responsibility.”
Naqvi congratulated the Inspector General and his team on the successful parade and commended the arrangements. “The Federal Constabulary will continue to progress and reach new milestones,” he added. He concluded by extending “heartfelt congratulations” to all recruits embarking on their new duties.
