PESHAWAR, Dec 02 (APP):The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority on Tuesday conducted major operations in Peshawar, Mardan, and Nowshera recovering hundreds of kilograms of rotten chicken, banned China salt, and a large consignment of empty bottles used for manufacturing counterfeit branded beverages.
According to the Authority’s spokesperson, in Peshawar, a team accompanied by district administration officials seized more than 500 kg of spoiled chicken from a vehicle on Phandu Road, which was destroyed on the spot. An FIR has been registered against the individuals involved.
In Mardan, during a joint checkpoint operation with the police on Nowshera Road, the Food Safety Team seized over 375 kg of banned China salt that was intended for supply in various markets.
Furthermore, in the industrial zone of Risalpur, an unexpected raid on a unit led to the recovery of a large stock of empty bottles used for producing fake branded drinks. The unit was sealed, machinery was taken into government custody, and the involved individuals were arrested and fined.
Director General of the Food Authority, Wasif Saeed, appreciated the teams for their successful operations. He stated that, following the instructions of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Suhail Khan Afridi and Chief Secretary Shehab Ali Shah, strict and effective measures against adulterated food will continue across the province.
