HYDERABAD, Dec 01 (APP): The Hyderabad police have rounded up a deputy manager of a sugar mill, charged with issuing life threats to a lawyer who was pleading a case of the mill’s labourers.
A police official informed here on Monday that the Deputy Manager of local Sugar Mill had been arrested.
According to the official, the Cantt police registered an FIR on October 15 on the complaint of advocate Ghulam Murtaza Laghari.
The lawyer stated in the FIR that he had received a call on his cell phone from an unknown person who allegedly warned him to back off from supporting the mill’s laboures in their court case.
The caller, he alleged, issued him life threats besides using abusive language on the call. The Cant police had lodged the FIR under sections 504, 506 and 109 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and section 25/D of Telegraph Act, also inserting section R/W 3-1 of Lawyers Welfare and Protection Act, 2023.
