GUJRANWALA, Dec 1 (APP): In a decisive crackdown against narcotics networks and illegal weapons, City Police Officer Muhammad Ayaz Saleem directed district-wide action to curb drug trafficking and unlawful arms possession.
According to police sources, on the instructions of SP Civil Lines Imran Khan, a police team conducted patrolling, blockade, and search operations. During this action, the team arrested five accused, including three notorious drug dealers.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Adil Ali, Muhammad Sahil, Zuhaib Siddique, Rafaqat Gujjar and Noreen alias Jatti.
Police recovered two 30-bore pistols and 4.380 kilograms of heroin from their possession. Police sources said that drug dealers confessed that they were transporting narcotics from other districts for distribution across Gujranwala.
Residents and socio-political organizations of the area lauded the police for their timely and effective operation, acknowledging the efforts made to improve public safety. They praised the officers for combating the menace of drugs and illegal arms.
CPO Muhammad Ayaz Saleem emphasized that tightening the noose around drug traffickers and illegal arms holders is essential for safeguarding the youth. He congratulated the SHO of Satellite Town and his team for demonstrating exceptional performance during the operation, adding that further investigation is underway.
