HYDERABAD, Dec 01 (APP):Iqra University (IU) hosted a powerful and thought-provoking session under the banner of the Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP) titled “Imagine Pakistan 2030: Challenges, Opportunities & The Way Forward.”
The event brought together eminent leaders from Pakistan’s private education sector to discuss a reimagined, progressive future for the country.
Chairman Iqra University Naveed Lakhani, welcomed the distinguished guests and reaffirmed IU’s commitment to nurturing innovative thinkers who will shape Pakistan’s next decade of growth.
The Chief Guest, Mian Amer Mahmood, Chairman Punjab Group & Chairman PBA, delivered a compelling address, noting that Pakistan is living in a time of unparalleled technology, information access, and an increasingly informed citizenry.
Highlighting Pakistan’s national challenges, he pointed to healthcare, education, rule of law, and basic human needs, referencing international surveys ranking Pakistan at the bottom across several indicators. He noted that citizens today expect continuous improvement, but remain consistently disappointed due to lack of clean water, safe air, and efficient governance.
Prof. Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman, Chairman APSUP, underscored the collective responsibility of academia, industry, and leadership in driving transformative national change.
Prof. Sohail Afzal, Executive Director Punjab Group, further discussed the evolving role of private universities and their contributions to Pakistan’s educational and economic development.
The session concluded with a powerful call to action for youth: envision a progressive, people-centric Pakistan by 2030 — one built on innovation, responsibility, and collaborative leadership.
