DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Dec 01 (APP): The Dera police continuing their crackdown on criminal elements, arrested a total of 26 suspects and recovered weapons and narcotics in two separate operations.
According to police spokesman, the operations were carried out under the supervision of District Police Officer (DPO) Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada.
In the first action, Shaheed Nawab Khan Police, led by SP Paharpur Division Syed Asad Ali Shah, SDPO Paniala circle Riaz Khan, and SHO Habibur Rehman, conducted a search operation in various localities and checked around 20 houses. During the operation, the police arrested an attempted-murder suspect named Muhammad Gul son of Muhammad Basheer, a resident of Mohallah Peer Khaki Shah.
The team also recovered 35 grams of Ice drug from the possession of Farmanullah, son of Rehmatullah, a resident of Paniala, and registered a case against him. Additionally, 13 other suspects were taken into custody for questioning.
In a separate search-and-strike operation, a team of Paroa police station, led by SDPO Paroa Circle Inamullah Khan Gandapur along with SHO Sheikh Muhammad Bilal, checked and cleared nearly 30 houses in different villages.
During the operation, the police arrested eight suspects and seized multiple weapons, including five pistols, three shotguns, and ammunition.
Among those arrested were Rahmatullah of Adil Sipra, from whom a 30-bore pistol and five rounds were recovered; Noman, also of Adil Sipra, found with a 30-bore 9mm pistol and ammunition; and Jamshed of Naiwela, who was carrying a 30-bore pistol.
The police also registered cases after recovering a 12-bore shotgun, a 3×3 rifle with cartridges, a Kalashnikov-style pistol, and another 30-bore pistol during the search operation.
Both operations, according to police, are part of a sustained effort to curb crime and ensure public safety in the district.
