CHINIOT, Dec 1 (APP): Traffic police Chiniot are taking practical steps to ensure the implementation of traffic rules in the district, on the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
According to APP correspondent, under the supervision of DSP Traffic Khurram Shahzad, a full-scale crackdown on violations of traffic rules is underway.
Challans were issued for 3353 vehicles and motorcycles, with fines of over Rs 5 million imposed for violating traffic rules.
Traffic police took action against 1023 motorcycle riders without helmets, imposing fines of over Rs 2 million.
Action was also taken against 878 vehicles emitting smoke, with fines of over Rs 1.7 million imposed. Additionally, 412 vehicles and drivers were penalized for minors, driving without a license, wrong parking, and other offenses.
DPO Abdullah Ahmed stated that practical steps are being taken to ensure citizens’ safety, with awareness campaigns underway alongside actions to prevent traffic accidents. He urged citizens to follow traffic rules for their own and others’ safe travel.
The police are also preparing driving licenses under a special campaign for citizens’ convenience, encouraging them to obtain licenses as proof of being law-abiding citizens.
