PESHAWAR, Dec 01 (APP):Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi has strongly condemned a terrorist attack on a police mobile in Lakki Marwat.
The Chief Minister said sacrifices of police personnel will not go in vain. He said the provincial government stands firmly with the police. He added maintaining law and order is the top priority of the government.
Sohail Afridi stated such cowardly attacks cannot weaken the resolve of the government and security forces in the fight against terrorism.
A suicide attack targeted a police mobile of Tajori Police Station in Lakki Marwat on Monday. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of one police officer. Five other officers sustained injuries.
A police spokesperson said the attacker detonated explosives near the police vehicle.
Following the explosion a heavy contingent of police arrived at the scene. They cordoned off the area. A search operation has been launched to locate any accomplices and secure the surroundings.
Police are continuing investigations into the incident.
