CHINIOT, Dec 1 (APP):District Police Officer (DPO), Abdullah Ahmed on Monday chaired an important meeting with transporters at his office to ensure strict implementation of traffic laws.
The transporter were briefed in detail about the new traffic regulations and fines during the meeting.
The DPO instructed transporters that over speeding, overloading, carrying passengers on bus rooftops, and negligent driving would not be tolerated under any circumstances, and strict action would be taken against the violations.
He made it clear that indiscriminate action would continue under the new regulations.
DPO Abdullah Ahmed stated that to ensure safe traveling for citizens and to prevent traffic accidents enforcement operations were underway besides awareness campaigns were also being carried out in that regard.
He urged citizens to follow traffic laws to ensure the safety of their own journey as well as that of others.
According to the police spokesperson, the police are utilizing all available resources to improve traffic discipline in the district.
