CHINIOT, Dec 1 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority’s (PFA) food safety teams are continuing their crackdown against the violators and conducted 73 inspections across the district during last 24 hours.
They checked 28 milk trucks and various milk sale points and 5430 liters of milk were inspected through the Lactoscan machine, the official sources said on Monday.
Heavy fines were imposed for poor quality of food, they added.
According to the Authority’s sources , a total of Rs 31,000 fines were imposed for violation of rules.
During the inspection of various grocery stores and meat shops, poor sanitation arrangements and expired items were found.
The teams destroyed more than 3 kg of expired products and 5 liters of expired cold drinks.
The citizens had been urged to contact the helpline 1223 for food-related complaints, they added.
