LAHORE, Nov 29 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired an important meeting to receive a detailed briefing and conduct a close review of the effective implementation of the new Possession of Property Ordinance.
She noted that the longstanding influence of land grabbers in Punjab has ended, as authorities have been directed to launch a decisive crackdown against illegal occupants across the province.
The chief minister highlighted that the Punjab government has set a historic milestone by settling 1,005 cases of illegal land occupation within just two days. A comprehensive report on the matter was presented during the meeting, and she added that she is personally monitoring progress through a live dashboard.
CM Maryam Nawaz said, “Women’s land cases will be resolved on top priority.” She stressed, “As soon as a decision is made in a land case, possession will be granted immediately, no delay, no recommendation, and no negligence will be tolerated.” She underscored that a decision remains incomplete until the rightful owner physically takes possession of the land, adding that “every marla, every kanal, every acre in Punjab will remain with its original owner only.”
She added that any individual whose land or property has been illegally occupied should file an application with the respective Deputy Commissioner, who will be responsible for deciding the matter within a few days.
