LAHORE, Nov 29 (APP):The Lahore Arts Council has started the three-day Alhamra Sufi Festival 2025,attracting a large number of visitors on the opening day.
The festival features a Sufi art exhibition, book fair, qawwali, discussion sessions, and the theatrical play “Maqsood Kal Main Hoon!”.
The event opened at the Alhamra Allah Baksh Gallery,where a Sufi-themed exhibition received a strong public response. The Alhamra Mall complex has been decorated in Sufi colors to highlight messages of peace, love, and unity.
Alhamra Executive Director Mahboob Alam said the festival aims to connect youth with the spiritual and cultural teachings of Sufi saints. He added that the increased participation of young people is encouraging.
A special session titled “Youth’s Intellectual Challenges and Wasif Ali Wasif” was held, featuring speakers Sahibzada Kashif Mahmood,Dr.Waseem Ullah Shaheen,Iftikhar Ahmed Usmani and Dr. Affan Qaiser. An Urdu recitation by Imran Jafri was also part of the program.
Motivational speaker Qasim Ali Shah addressed a packed audience, while qawwal Nadeem Jameel and his team performed later in the evening. The play “Maqsood Kal Main Hoon!” showcased Iqbal’s philosophy through performances by young actors.
Thousands of people visited Alhamra throughout the day, showing strong public interest in the festival.
The Alhamra Sufi Festival 2025 will continue until November 30,2025 with more cultural activities and performances.
