LAHORE, Nov 28 (APP): An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday extended the interim bail of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry in five separate May-9 cases until January 9.
Administrative Judge Manzer Ali Gill conducted the proceedings on the bail petitions filed by the former minister.
Fawad Chaudhry did not appear despite the expiry of his interim bail, after which his legal team sought a one-day exemption, citing his hospitalization.
The court accepted the request and directed his counsel to present arguments on the bail pleas at the next hearing.
Fawad Chaudhry is accused of inciting workers to violence and torching police vehicles at different locations. Three cases pertain to the burning of police vehicles near Jinnah House, while he also holds interim bail in the Club Chowk GOR Gate attack case. He is on interim bail in another case involving the burning of police vehicles in Mughalpura.
All cases were registered at Sarwar Road, Race Course, and Mughalpura police stations.
