ISLAMABAD, Nov 28 (APP):Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister (DPM/FM), Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday received President of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Jean Bouquot and welcomed him to Pakistan.
During the meeting, the deputy prime minister emphasised the importance of preparing Pakistani professionals for emerging global standards and technological shifts through deeper collaboration with IFAC, a DPM’s Office news release said.
He underscored the critical role of the accountancy profession in strengthening financial governance and transparency, and in equipping Pakistan to meet modern challenges, including AI-driven transformation.
The DPM/FM appreciated the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) and highlighted ongoing cooperation with IFAC to enhance audit quality, support SMEs, and strengthen ethics and sustainability reporting.
