LAHORE, Nov 28 (APP):More than 13,000 applications have been received since September 2024 under the Global IT Certifications Programme, an initiative of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) on direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for acquainting youth with internationally recognised digital skills certifications.
This was shared during a review meeting presided over by PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf. PITB Director General e-Governance Sajid Latif, Director Skills Development Wing Chaudhary Ahmad Islam, and other senior officials were also present in the meeting.
It was highlighted during the meeting that over 7,000 applicants have successfully cleared the eligibility verification stage through the PITB-developed portal. Payment verification for nearly 400 candidates has also been completed, while the fee reimbursement process for 278 candidates—after confirmation of their certifications—is currently underway. Furthermore, 226 young professionals who have successfully completed their certifications have already received full reimbursement of their course fees directly into their accounts.
The programme aims at equipping the youth with globally recognized digital competencies and enhance their competitiveness in the international job market. Speaking on the occasion, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf noted that the Global IT Certifications Program not only facilitates access to top-tier technology certifications but also ensures complete fee reimbursement for candidates who pass their exams.
