SAFCO microfinance, heritage foundation sign MoU to help poor families, small businesses

HYDERABAD, Nov 28 (APP): The SAFCO Microfinance Company and the Heritage Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on effective and inclusive development initiatives in the country, marking the beginning of a new chapter to uplift underprivileged families across Sindh.
According to details shared by the SAFCO head office Hyderabad on Friday, the signing ceremony was held at a local hotel in Karachi, where CEO SAFCO Microfinance Company Dr. Suleman G. Abro and CEO Heritage Foundation Yasmeen Lari formalized the partnership.
During the ceremony, both organizations agreed that their objectives align closely, particularly in enhancing access to financial services for poor households, encouraging small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in rural and semi-urban areas and promoting housing projects equipped with health and sanitation facilities.
Under the agreement, vulnerable families in areas where the Heritage Foundation is active will be supported with information and financial resources to help empower them socially and economically.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Suleman G. Abro expressed hope that the partnership would benefit low-income families in Sindh, which he described as SAFCOo’s primary goal. He added that by working together, SAFCO and the Heritage Foundation would provide knowledge, business training and financial assistance to communities in both rural and urban areas to help them strengthen their economic conditions and integrate into mainstream development.
Yasmeen Lari said the MoU would further reinforce the Heritage Foundation’s commitment to empower rural communities, creating livelihood opportunities and promoting eco-friendly practices. Renowned financial sector leader Zubair Soomro was also present at the ceremony.
