ISLAMABAD, Nov 27 (APP): The Senate was informed on Thursday that a total of 64 distribution transformers of various capacities reported damaged in Lower Chitral between July 2022 and August 2025 have all been replaced with functional units.
Responding to a question raised by Senator Muhammad Talha Mahmood, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that all complaints received during the period had been addressed and no damaged transformer complaint was currently pending at PESCO headquarters for Lower Chitral.
Regarding Upper Chitral, the minister clarified that the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has no distribution network in the area.
He added that the distribution system in Upper Chitral is under the jurisdiction of the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO), which is responsible for all related operations including maintenance of lines, replacement of faulty transformers and billing.
