Efficient procurement ensures effective execution of projects: Finance advisor

PESHAWAR, Nov 27 (APP): Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Finance, Muzzammil Aslam here Thursday said that efficient procurement ensures effective execution of government projects, optimal use of public funds, delivery of quality goods and provision of timely services to citizens.
He expressed these views while addressing Advisory Group on Public Procurement Conference that was organized by KP Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (KPPRA). The event was also attended by Managing Directors of the provincial procurement regulatory authorities and their respective teams from across the country.
Speaking on the occasion, finance advisor described the Advisory Group on Public Procurement as a vital platform that fosters knowledge sharing, collaboration and constructive dialogue aimed at improving procurement practices across KP.
He said the forum provides an opportunity to collectively address systemic challenges, exchange practical experiences and chart a clear roadmap for strengthening the procurement framework in the province. “Your deliberations will play a critical role in enhancing governance, minimizing procedural gaps and ensuring that public funds are managed with the highest level of integrity,” he remarked.
Highlighting recent reforms, CM aide on finance noted that KP has made significant strides in modernizing its procurement processes through the introduction of digital systems.
These initiatives, he said, reflect the government’s commitment to transparency, efficiency and alignment with international best practices. Despite this progress, he acknowledged that certain challenges persist requiring targeted and professional interventions.
He also expressed gratitude to all participants for their continued dedication to strengthening public procurement adding that outcomes of the conference would yield actionable recommendations and concrete steps to further enhance efficiency and accountability across the province’s procurement ecosystem.
