LAHORE, Nov 27 (APP): The NUR-Fatima Memorial System (NUR-FMS) held its 10th Integrated Convocation, here on Thursday.
Graduates from Fatima Memorial Hospital-FMH College of Medicine & Dentistry, Saida Waheed FMH College of Nursing and FMH Institute of Allied Health Sciences participated in the ceremony.
According to spokesperson, the convocation recognised the academic achievements of students from across the School of Health Sciences. Hosted at a local hotel, the ceremony drew a large gathering of parents, faculty members and students. A total of 753 graduates received degrees across the MBBS, BDS, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences programmes, marking a significant milestone in their academic and professional journey.
Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Nadia Naseem, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Health Sciences, underscored the critical role of well-trained young professionals in strengthening Pakistan’s healthcare delivery system. She said that institutions rooted in ethics, academic excellence, and professional competence form the backbone of a resilient health sector.
Guest of Honor Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, Vice Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, noted that Pakistan’s healthcare landscape is rapidly evolving, with young medical and allied health professionals leading the transformation. He added that high-quality education and strong professional training provide the basis for a dependable healthcare future.
Chairperson NUR-FMS Mrs. Shahima Rehman expressed the institution’s mission of developing compassionate, service-oriented, and socially responsible healthcare professionals. “Our graduates embody the success of our mission,” she said.
Senior Technical Advisor Ms. Maha Rehman highlighted the system’s academic standards, training frameworks, and commitment to preparing patient-centered and ethically grounded professionals.
Principal, School of Health Sciences (NUR-FMS), Prof. Dr. Tayyab Abbas commended the hard work of students, faculty, and parents, noting that the convocation marks the beginning of the graduates’ professional journey.
Later, degrees and medals were conferred by Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Nadia Naseem. The ceremony included degree distribution, oath-taking, and medal presentations. The event concluded with a group photo, where faculty and parents lauded the graduates’ dedication and achievements.
