BAHAWALPUR, Nov 27 (APP): District-level Dispute Resolution Committees (DRCs) in Bahawalpur have stepped up efforts to deliver fast and transparent justice, with the Yazman committee successfully resolving 11 longstanding land-related disputes in its latest meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Dr Farhan Farooq.
According to the district administration, the cases — some of them pending for years — were settled after both parties were heard, revenue records examined, and property documents including ownership deeds, registries, and mutations verified on the spot. Illegal occupations were removed immediately, and rightful possession was restored to legitimate owners in each case.
All decisions were announced transparently in the presence of both parties, ensuring fairness and clarity in the proceedings.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Farhan Farooq encouraged citizens facing land or property issues to approach the DRC without hesitation. “If a claim is proven valid on the basis of revenue records, the matter will be resolved promptly, fairly, and transparently,” he said, adding that the Government of Punjab and district administration are committed to protecting citizens’ legal rights and shielding them from unnecessary litigation.
Calling the active role of DRCs “a milestone in providing relief to the public,” Dr. Farhan emphasized that the committees are designed to bring justice to people’s doorstep.
The meeting was attended by District Police Officer Muhammad Hassan Iqbal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Captain (retd) Tayyab Sami Khan, and officers from the revenue departments. The administration stated that such initiatives will continue to ensure timely justice and strengthen public trust in local governance.
