SUKKUR, Nov 27 (APP): Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO), Muhammad Dittal Kalhoro was honored with an appreciation shield by Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Syed Imran Ahmad Shah on Thursday.
According to SRSO’s spokesperson, the ceremony took place during a high profile seminar titled “Poverty Graduation – Pathway to Sustainable Livelihoods” held in Islamabad.
Also present on the stage were Secretary MoPA&SS and Country Director of International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), who witnessed the recognition. In a press release issued here, it was highlighted that SRSO acted as an implementing partner of the National Poverty Graduation Programme (NPGP), funded jointly by IFAD and the Government of Pakistan. The program, operational from 2019 to 2025, focused on lifting ultra-poor households out of poverty on a sustainable basis. It achieved remarkable success in the districts of Shikarpur and Kashmore in Sindh, transforming lives through asset transfers, skills training, interest-free loans, and social mobilization.
The SRSO’s efforts under NPGP have been instrumental in enabling communities to break the cycle of poverty, build resilience, and graduate to sustainable livelihoods. The appreciation from the Federal Minister underscores the impact of SRSO’s work and the collaborative efforts of MoPA&SS, IFAD, and other stakeholders in driving inclusive development.
