Nosherwani reviews province’s tax collection system

QUETTA, Nov 27 (APP):Balochistan Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani chaired an important meeting of the Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) to review the province’s tax collection system and explore measures for its improvement.
The meeting was attended by Finance Secretary Imran Zarkoon, Special Finance Secretary Jahangir Kakar, Balochistan’s NFC Consultant Mahfooz Ali Khan, BRA Chairman Abdullah Khan, and other senior officials of the Finance Department.
During the session, BRA Chairman Abdullah Khan provided a detailed briefing on the current state of tax collection in the province and outlined the authority’s future strategy for enhancing revenue performance.
Minister Nosherwani emphasized the need to modernize Balochistan’s tax collection framework, noting that effective reforms are essential for aligning the system with contemporary requirements. He directed officials to devise a comprehensive strategy to bring non-registered sectors into the tax net, ensuring sustainable growth in provincial revenues.
He added that strengthening BRA’s institutional capacity and upgrading its operations on modern lines would significantly improve revenue generation, ultimately yielding positive impacts on the province’s economy.
Appreciating the efforts and progress made by the BRA team, the Finance Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to financial self-reliance. He instructed that the process of tax reforms be made more transparent and expedited to achieve long-term fiscal stability for Balochistan.
