KARACHI, Nov 27 (APP): The four-day 9th International Symposium-Cum-Training Course on Molecular Medicine and Drug Research, organized by the Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research, concluded on Thursday at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards, Ismail Raho, said that science has no boundaries, underscoring the universal and borderless nature of the discipline.
He noted that scientific knowledge is built on inquisitiveness, evidence, and the pursuit of truth—values shared by humanity regardless of nationality, culture, language, or geography.
He described molecular medicine as one of the foremost scientific fields of the present time, and added that organizing an international conference on molecular medicine at the University of Karachi is a remarkable achievement by ICCBS.
He appreciated the ICCBS administration for hosting such a valuable event and thanked national and international experts for their participation.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Karachi, Prof. Dr. Khalid Mehmood Iraqi, stated that knowledge is the only key that can help address the challenges facing humanity.
He said that it is the prime responsibility of researchers and scientists to serve the nation and place the country on a sustainable path toward socioeconomic progress. He also thanked the participants for attending the international science event.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, Director of ICCBS, expressed gratitude to the organizers—particularly Prof. Dr. Asmat Saleem—as well as the faculty, staff, students, and volunteers for playing a vital role in arranging the international event.
He hoped that the conference would prove meaningful for the participants, especially young scholars, and noted that the meeting would strengthen research collaborations among scientists from different regions of the world. He also gave a brief presentation to the Minister on the research and educational achievements of ICCBS.
It is pertinent to mention here that over 600 scientists, including various foreign researchers from Benin, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Canada, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, Sweden, Iraq, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Malawi, Malaysia, Mauritania, Nepal, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Sultanate of Oman, Thailand, the U.K., the U.S.A., Uganda, Yemen and others, attended the international symposium, aimed at bringing together leading experts in the field of molecular medicine.
