LAHORE, Nov 26 (APP):Punjab Police conducted 158 raids across the province in the last 24 hours, arresting 78 drug dealers and recovering 55-kg charas, 5-kg Ice, 9-kg heroin, and 448-litre liquor, as part of the ongoing Drug-Free Punjab operations under the direction of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson on Wednesday, the operations target drug dens, dealers, and smugglers to protect citizens, especially the youth, from the menace of narcotics.
IGP Punjab Dr. Usman directed that special operations against drug traffickers be further intensified across all districts. He stressed that all individuals involved in the drug supply chain must be brought to justice and handed strict punishments. He further instructed that actions against those selling drugs near educational institutions and hostels be accelerated to safeguard students and young people.
