ISLAMABAD, Nov 26 (APP): The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences and Technology (FUUAST) Islamabad is set to launch a free Turkish language course soon for its students with the support of Embassy of Turkiye in Pakistan.
According to a press release on Wednesday, Mehmat Toyran, Educational Counsellor at the Turkish Embassy in Pakistan, visited the University and met with Dr Faisal Javaid, Deputy Director Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC).
The Head of the Departments, (HoD) of International Relations (IR) and Mass Communication was also present there.
The Turkish official highlighted the close ties between the two brotherly countries, saying, “Turkiye and Pakistan share decades long political, cultural and educational ties.”
He added that the people of Turkiye considered Pakistan, especially its youth, very close to their hearts. “We are pleased to offer Turkish language training to the students of the Federal Urdu University,” he remarked.
Dr Faisal Javaid thanked the Turkish government, the embassy and particularly Educational Counsellor Mehmat Toyran for their support in this regard.
He said it is an honour for the university to provide students with training in Turkish language.
Learning Turkish, he noted, will broaden students’ global perspective and open doors to higher education and employment opportunities in Turkiye and other countries.
Dr Faisal also expressed gratitude to Vice Chancellor Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari and the University administration for approving and encouraging international level initiatives.
He urged students to take full advantage of the opportunity to learn Turkish.
