PESHAWAR, Nov 26 (APP):The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority on Wednesday sealed a factory in Nowshera allegedly involved in the large-scale production of synthetic and adulterated milk.
According to the official handout, the operation was conducted on a tip-off at a unit located in the Industrial Estate, Risalpur, where the raiding team recovered 350 litres of artificially prepared milk. The entire quantity was destroyed on the spot.
A spokesperson for the Authority said the action was carried out by the Nowshera team under the supervision of Deputy Director Peshawar Division Sher Rehman, along with the Town-2 Peshawar Food Safety Team.
On-site testing by the Mobile Food Testing Laboratory confirmed the milk to be synthetic and unfit for human consumption.
Officials also seized the factory’s machinery, chillers, chemical drums, and a vehicle reportedly used for transporting chemicals.
The premises were sealed, heavy penalties imposed, and an FIR registered against the factory owners.
Director General KP Food Authority Wasif Saeed commended the team for the successful operation, describing the production of fake and adulterated milk as a “heinous crime” against public health.
He directed inspection teams across the province to intensify actions against such illegal practices.
