SIALKOT, Nov 26 (APP): Secretary Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Punjab Dr. Ehsan Bhutta has announced that the Sialkot Museum will be inaugurated on December 25 under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s Magnificent Punjab Vision.
The date was finalised following consultations with departments concerned.
Dr. Bhutta shared the update during a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Saba Asghar Ali, President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ahtesham Mazhar, PSIC representatives, and officers of the Archaeology Department.
The meeting reviewed ongoing heritage-related initiatives, with the Chamber President assuring full cooperation, particularly for the preservation of Sialkot Fort and the development of the new museum.
Later, the Secretary visited the museum to inspect ongoing work and directed all departments to expedite efforts to meet the inauguration deadline. He announced his next review visit for 13 December.
Dr. Bhutta also inspected Iqbal Manzil and instructed officials to prepare restoration estimates to return the national monument to its original 1861 condition, along with ensuring full functionality of the LED system for educational screenings.
