ISLAMABAD, Nov 26 (APP):The Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) on Wednesday announced that all unregistered restaurants and food points have four days left to complete their registration.
Officials said the deadline of November 30 will not be extended, and action will begin from December 1 against any outlet operating without registration.
According to the Director of the Food Authority, all food businesses must ensure their registration before the last date.
He said that from December 1, no restaurant or food point will be allowed to operate without proper approval.
The authority has issued clear instructions to its inspection teams to conduct daily checks across the city from the first day of next month.
The Director stated that any unregistered restaurant or food point found operating after the deadline will face sealing and heavy fines under the regulations. He added that the inspection teams will monitor compliance on a routine basis to ensure food safety standards.
The Food Authority urged to all restaurant and food point owners to complete their registration by November 30 to avoid penalties.
The Director said that the registration process has been made accessible and citizens can visit the Business Facilitation Centre to obtain a licence.
Officials emphasised that the registration drive aims to bring all food outlets under one system for better monitoring and improved service standards. The upcoming crackdown is part of the authority’s efforts to regulate food businesses and ensure that all outlets follow the required procedures.
The authority clarified that daily inspections starting from December 1 will focus on identifying unregistered outlets and enforcing rules without delay. Owners have been urged to utilise the remaining days to complete their paperwork and prevent operational disruptions.
The Food Authority reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the registration campaign and maintaining oversight across the sector. The deadline marks the final opportunity for unregistered outlets to comply before enforcement teams begin action next month.
