ABBOTTABAD, Nov 26 (APP):A persistent spell of dry and cold weather has gripped the entire Hazara Division, with temperatures dropping sharply across major cities and hilly regions. According to the local meteorological office, Abbottabad recorded 0°C, Galyat 2°C, Naran 3°C, while the temperature at Babusar Top plunged to –5°C, marking some of the coldest conditions of the season.
The region is experiencing cold winds and a prolonged dry spell due to a weak western disturbance that has bypassed upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Residents across Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Battagram, and Kohistan reported severe cold during early morning and nighttime hours.
Health experts warn that the prevailing dry weather has increased cases of flu, throat infections, and skin dryness, advising people especially children and the elderly to take preventive measures.
Meteorological officials say no rainfall is expected in the coming days, and the dry spell may intensify the cold further. Upper Hazara’s hilly areas, including Nathiagali and Thandiani, are expected to remain near freezing at night.
