SARGODHA, Nov 26 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority(PFA) on Wednesday seized 1,00 kg of rotten meat near Sahiwal Bhera Interchange.
According to PFA spokesperson,PFA teams conducted a major operation near Sahiwal Behra Interchange and seized a vehicle carrying 1100 kg of rotten meat intended for supply to restaurants.
A veterinary doctor examined the meat on the spot and declared it extremely hazardous for human consumption.
Following the inspection,the PFA team immediately destroyed the entire consignment.
Officials revealed that the meat was being transported to restaurants located around Committee Chowk in Rawalpindi.Timely intervention by the Food Authority prevented the unhygienic meat from reaching consumers.
Police registered a case against the two suspects involved and both the driver and the vehicle were taken into custody.
