ISLAMABAD, Nov 25 (APP): National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Tuesday said that recent engagements between the leaderships of Pakistan and Iran mark a significant milestone in strengthening bilateral relations.
Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Dr Ali Larijani met Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq at the Parliament House.
Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said this while talking to Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Dr Ali Larijani who called on at the Parliament House.
The meeting focused on Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations, regional security, parliamentary cooperation, and opportunities for enhanced economic partnership.
The Speaker emphasized the need to further expand regional peace, stability, and mutual cooperation. He stated that Pakistan and Iran are brotherly, neighbouring countries, and the recent high-level contacts between their leaderships will prove to be a crucial milestone in strengthening bilateral ties.
Both sides agreed to promote parliamentary and people-to-people exchanges and underscored the importance of unity, solidarity, and a joint approach among Muslim countries.
The Speaker said that Pakistan is a second home for the Iranian people and expressed gratitude for Iran’s diplomatic and moral support during Pakistan’s conflict with India.He reiterated that Pakistan responded decisively to Indian aggression and strengthened its national defence, while always advocating for peaceful and sustainable solutions to regional and international disputes.
He also expressed concern over the use of Afghan soil for terrorism and reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to eliminate terrorism from its territory. The Speaker conveyed his best wishes for Iran’s future development vision.
Dr Ali Larijani appreciated Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq’s remarks regarding Iran and commended the Pakistani people for their support during the recent Israeli aggression. He welcomed the defence agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Dr Larijani noted that there are vast opportunities for enhancing cooperation between Iran and Pakistan across multiple sectors and stressed the need to expand collaboration in diverse fields. He added that the people of Iran hold deep affection and strong bonds of goodwill for the people of Pakistan.
