WAH CANTONMENT, Nov 25 (APP):Special court for the Control of Narcotic Substances (CNS) in Taxila has sentenced Irfan Shahzad to nine years in prison on Tuesday for drug peddling.
According to APP correspondent, Shahzad was arrested by Wah Cantonment Police in November 2024 with 1.65 kilograms of hashish.
The judge announced the verdict after hearing arguments from defense and prosecution counsels, finding Shahzad guilty of selling drugs. He was awarded 9-year imprisonment and fined Rs 80,000.
During the proceedings, the public prosecutor argued that Shahzad was caught red-handed smuggling contraband, and evidence linked him to the crime. He emphasized that Shahzad’s offense was heinous and deserved no leniency.
The court’s decision concludes the case, with Shahzad now facing the consequences of his actions.
