FAISALABAD, Nov 25 (APP):The District Quality Control Board (DQCB) has referred 41 cases to the Drug Court after reviewing departmental action reports against medical stores and clinics operated by unqualified individuals. The board reviewed a total of 60 cases during its meeting held at the DC Office, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Madam Zainab Jehanzad.
Secretary of the Quality Control Board Rubeena Akhtar, board members, and drug inspectors were also present at the meeting. After thorough scrutiny, the board referred 41 cases to the Drug Court for operating illegal medical stores and issued warnings in 15 cases. The board also ordered the completion of records in two cases and approved the registration of FIRs against two medical store owners for serious violations of drug regulations.
Speaking at the meeting, ADC Madam Zainab Jehanzad emphasized that there would be zero tolerance for the illegal sale of fake and substandard medicines. She instructed drug inspectors to fully embrace their responsibilities and ensure that no leniency is shown to those endangering public health under the guise of providing treatment.
During the meeting, Secretary Rubeena Akhtar briefed the members on the specific details of each case.
