Conquerors and Invincibles secure wins in National Women’s One-Day Tournament

FAISALABAD, Nov 25 (APP):The National Women’s One-Day Tournament saw exciting action on Tuesday as Conquerors and Invincibles both claimed victories in their respective matches, strengthening their positions in the ongoing championship.
At the High Performance Centre (HPC) Ground, the Stars won the toss and chose to bat first but were dismissed for 148 runs. Omaima Sohail showed remarkable resilience with an unbeaten 94, anchoring the innings despite limited support from her teammates. Conquerors’ bowler Lubna Behram took center stage, claiming four wickets and dismantling the middle order, restricting the opposition to a modest total.
Chasing 152, Conquerors reached their target with two wickets in hand, finishing at 152 for 8. Iram Javaid played a composed knock of 57, guiding her team through the tense chase. Although Diana Baig claimed three wickets for the Stars and bowled with discipline, her efforts were not enough to stop the determined Conquerors. Iram Javaid was named “Player of the Match” for her match-winning performance.
In the second fixture at Iqbal Stadium, Challengers won the toss and opted to field, sending Invincibles in to bat. Invincibles capitalized on the decision, with Natalia Pervaiz scoring a solid 62 and Muneeba Ali contributing a well-crafted 53. The team posted a competitive total of 188 before being bowled out. Challengers’ bowler Quratulain impressed with four wickets, maintaining consistent pressure throughout the innings.
In reply, the Challengers were restricted to 172 all out, despite a battling 36 from Sadaf Shamas. Invincibles’ Momina Riasat delivered a game-changing spell, claiming five wickets for just 23 runs, and was named “Player of the Match” for her outstanding performance.
Both matches showcased the growing strength and competitive spirit of women’s cricket in Pakistan, with players delivering high-level performances that added significant excitement to the tournament.
