NPO, LUMS to host Int’l conference on green productivity

ISLAMABAD, Nov 25 (APP):The National Productivity Organization (NPO)in collaboration with the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) Japan, and the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) is going to organize the international conference on “Green Productivity 2.0” on November 28–29 in Lahore.
This two-day global conference will take place at LUMS, said a news release here on Tuesday.
More than 80 international experts and delegates from APO member economies and various countries of Asia and the Pacific will participate in the conference.
Specialists from 21 countries, including Italy, Japan, Thailand, China, and Pakistan, will share their insights and experiences on sustainable development, circular economy, efficient resource use, and emerging global trends in green productivity.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Industries and Production, Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Petroleum, and Ministry of Climate Change will also attend the event, reaffirming the government of Pakistan’s strong commitment to its national Green Productivity 2.0 vision.
The conference will feature in-depth discussions on several key themes, including reducing carbon emissions in the industrial sector, the role of green hydrogen, sustainable resource utilization for a greener Asia, the responsibilities of financial institutions in supporting sustainable development, and the implementation of environmental, social, and governance frameworks to enhance industrial productivity, competitiveness, and exports.
In a joint statement, Chief Executive Officer NPO Alamgir Chaudhry, Senior Advisor at the LUMS Energy Institute Dr. Fayaz Chaudhry, said that this conference will serve as an important milestone for accelerating the adoption of green productivity models in the country, promoting eco-friendly technologies, and enabling industrial innovation and sustainable growth.
The conference aims to strengthen regional cooperation, facilitate knowledge exchange, and highlight new opportunities for low-carbon, sustainable industrial development. The event will further enhance collaboration between government, industry, academia, and international development partners.
