Food outlets penalised in Gujrat

GUJRAT, Nov 25 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) continued anti-adulteration operations in the district on the directions of Deputy Director Rizwan Saeed.
According to a PFA spokesperson, the teams carried out 109 inspections, during which 31 food outlets were issued improvement notices over hygiene and quality violations.
The authority imposed fines in 12 cases, amounting to Rs 87,500 , while  two outlets were stopped from operating until completion of SOPs. One public complaint was also addressed during the drive.
A food sample was collected for laboratory analysis, and 2.49 kilograms of expired food items were discarded.
The officials said the crackdown would continue to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to the public.
