Governor Kundi assures redressal of Jewellers’ Community grievances

PESHAWAR, Nov 25 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Tuesday assured the jewellers’ community of full support and prompt resolution of their longstanding issues, emphasizing that the government stands firmly with business owners operating under challenging circumstances.
A delegation of the Sarafa and Jewellers Association met the Governor at the Governor House, where they discussed in detail the problems faced by the jewellers’ community and various proposals for their solution.
The delegation was led by PPP stalwart Shahid Saraf, along with Association President Ameen Hussain Babar and General Secretary Fayaz Muhammad Durrani.
The delegation informed the Governor that jewellers across the province were facing police harassment, while illegal taxes had adversely impacted business activities.
Governor Kundi assured the delegation that he would take up tax-related issues with the Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and would also contact senior police officials to address complaints regarding harassment by police and DNFBP.
He further said that concerns related to the Federal Ombudsman’s forum would also be resolved.
Reaffirming his support, the Governor said that the doors of the Governor House were always open for the business community, and he would continue to raise their issues at the federal level as their representative.
Meanwhile, the newly elected cabinet of the Marble and Mines Industries Development Association met Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.
The delegation was led by PPP Mardan leader Sajjad Khan and newly elected President Syed Ijaz Bacha. The delegation briefed the Governor on the challenges faced by the marble sector due to issues arising from relevant provincial and federal departments.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that minerals are a precious gift bestowed upon the province, and the bright future of not only Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but the entire country is linked with this sector.
He emphasized the need to support the industry and align it with modern requirements, saying that the state is taking the matter seriously.
He added that most issues faced by the business community are linked to the federal government, and assured the delegation of full cooperation.
“We will take up your matters with the relevant ministries and ensure that your issues are resolved,” the Governor said.
The delegation also invited Governor Kundi to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected cabinet as the chief guest.
