BEIJING, Nov 25 (APP): The intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Tuesday, which resulted in the elimination of 22 India-sponsored terrorists, is a significant victory in Pakistan’s anti-terrorism campaign.
This operation not only demonstrates the professionalism of Pakistan’s security forces but also exposes the heinous role of the regional power in fueling terrorism in the region.
These views were expressed by Prof Cheng Xizhong, Senior Research Fellow at the Charhar Institute, a non-governmental Chinese think-tank on diplomacy and international studies based in Beijing.
In a statement, he said that the recent suicide attack on the Federal Constabulary (FC) headquarters in Peshawar further underscores the threat posed by the externally abetted terrorist groups. It is outrageous that external forces continue to support terrorist outfits to destabilize Pakistan, disregarding international law and human lives.
Amid these challenges, Pakistan’s security forces have shown unwavering resolve. Their swift, decisive and highly coordinated response has sent a resounding message: Pakistan possesses the unwavering resolve, professional competence and tactical prowess to effectively contain such crises and safeguard public safety, he added.
He said that the Pakistani leadership’s unwavering emphasis on counter-terrorism as a top national priority carries profound significance in the aftermath of such heinous attacks. It reaffirms that Pakistan’s fight against terrorism is rooted in national consensus, strategic precision and unwavering political resolve.
