DERA GHAZI KHAN, Nov 25 (APP):Dost Muhammad Khosa, the PPP candidate for the NA-185 by-election, dismissed any suggestion of parting ways with the party, asserting that his struggle against what he called an unjust system would continue.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, he said the youth were the country’s true asset and that meaningful systemic change could only be achieved by working alongside them.
Khosa expressed reservations about the recent by-election and said he would present his concerns to the party’s top leadership so an informed strategy could be devised for the future. He said he had consistently advocated reforms aimed at putting the country on the right path, adding that the development of Dera Ghazi Khan had always been central to his politics.
He thanked voters in his constituency for taking the time to cast their ballots in his favour. Khosa said defeat and victory were part of the political process but expressed hope that his concerns about the system would be addressed.
Contesting on a PPP ticket from NA-185 (Dera Ghazi Khan-2), Khosa secured 49,262 votes, while his PML-N rival, Mahmood Qadir Khan, won the seat with 82,413 votes.
