LAHORE, Nov 24 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has paid rich tribute to Pakistan’s first martyred female fighter pilot, Flying Officer Maryam Mukhtiar, on her death anniversary, describing her as a symbol of courage, commitment and national pride.
In her message, the chief minister said that the sacrifices of Maryam Mukhtiar would forever remain a guiding light for the nation, particularly for the young women of Pakistan who draw inspiration from her bravery and dedication. She said the martyred pilot’s name stands proudly among the country’s national heroes who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
CM Maryam Nawaz added that the daughters of Pakistan are contributing remarkably across various sectors, including the Punjab Police, Border Military Police, Environment Protection Department and the wildlife force. Their increasing representation in sensitive and challenging fields, she noted, reflects the growing confidence and strength of Pakistani women.
She said the nation salutes the courage of Maryam Mukhtiar, whose sacrifice not only strengthened the country’s defence narrative but also opened new avenues of inspiration for future generations.
