Industrial boilers, pressure vessels’ efficiency to be assessed through private companies: Commissioner

FAISALABAD, Nov 24 (APP):On the instructions of Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a comprehensive inspection will be conducted to re-evaluate the efficiency of boilers and pressure vessels of all industrial units and factories located in the Faisalabad division.
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by the Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar here on Monday.
The officers of various departments including industries, labor, civil defense, environment and representatives of companies attended the meeting.
It was told during the meeting that during the inspection, the NOCs with geo-tagging and location of the industrial unit will be checked, for which services of 4 private companies have been hired and they have been given 90 days’ time frame.
According to an estimate, there are more than 1,200 boilers and 6,000 pressure vessels in the industrial units of the division and it is imperative to assess their efficiency.
The Commissioner said that the divisional administration has also formed an enforcement committee.
He said that the industrial units which were found violating the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) will be sealed in the light of inspection reports.
Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) has also been instructed to check the requirements and efficiency of boilers/pressure vessels in all industrial units and factories in its domain and send a comprehensive report to the Commissioner’s office within 30 days.
There is no room for even the slight negligence or carelessness in this regard, the commissioner warned.
