LAHORE, Nov 24 (APP):Commissioner Lahore Division Marryam Khan on Monday presided over a divisional review meeting to assess the performance of all four districts of the division and issued comprehensive directions to ensure improved service delivery, strict monitoring and timely redressal of public issues.
Addressing the meeting, the Commissioner said that providing uninterrupted and quality public services in line with the vision of the Punjab Chief Minister was the top priority. She directed Deputy Commissioners to ensure rigorous monitoring of the supply, availability and pricing of essential commodities, adding that daily analysis must be conducted regarding the field performance of price control magistrates in every tehsil.
She instructed Assistant Commissioners to inspect Sahulat Bazaars, tehsil headquarters hospitals and schools on a daily basis and submit evidence-based reports. Field officers, she stressed, must go beyond merely identifying problems and should ensure that issues were resolved by the relevant departments without delay. She further emphasised that all field inspections and actions be geo-tagged to eliminate ambiguity and strengthen transparency.
Deputy Commissioners of Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib and Kasur separately briefed the Commissioner on district-level performance indicators, ongoing initiatives and areas requiring increased oversight. The Commissioner directed DCs to maintain strict daily monitoring of municipal services and cleanliness operations and ordered decisive action against dog-bite incidents, missing manhole covers and illegal gas decanting.
Additional Commissioner Hammad Mahmood Malhi, Additional Commissioner Dr Muhammad Akbar, DC Lahore Syed Musa Raza, DC Sheikhupura Shahid Imran Marth, DC Nankana Rao Tasleem Akhtar, DC Kasur Imran Ali, and Assistant Commissioners of the division attended the meeting.
