LAHORE, Nov 24 (APP): Apni Chhat Apna Ghar program is proving to be the largest and most successful project for providing houses to low-income families in the province.
According to official sources, more than 35,500 families have completed the construction of their houses under the program, while the total number of families benefiting from the program has been recorded at 117,159.
Houses of 72,254 families are under construction rapidly across the province and so far more than Rs 142 billion has been allocated for the construction of houses.
According to the sources, interest-free loans are being provided to families for 9 years under the program, from which thousands of families are benefiting. In the next 5 years, interest-free loans will be provided to 500,000 families for the construction of houses.
This program is being continued with very easy conditions for low-income families, due to which the construction of permanent houses in villages and towns across the province is increasing significantly.
